As per the latest SDG Index released by NITI Aayog, Kerala ranks first among Indian states with a score of 75, reflecting its strong outcomes in healthcare, nutrition, gender equality, and quality education. This consistent progress across sectors, supported by a skilled workforce and a stable business environment, has made Kerala one of India's most preferred destinations for investment.

Kerala offers strong connectivity across all modes of transport. The State has a total road network of 2,38,773.02 km, a railway track length of 2,087 km, four international airports, two major seaports, and seventeen minor ports. Kochi has an operational Metro Rail system, with similar projects planned for other cities. Kerala also has 1,700 km of inland waterways, a Water Metro system, the International Container Transshipment Terminal at Kochi, and the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Thiruvananthapuram.
The State is further strengthened by SEA-ME-WE-3 and SAFE submarine cable landings, fully digital telephone exchanges, and 98 percent optical fibre connectivity to the National Internet Backbone. With reliable 24x7 power supply, excellent air quality, and water softness nearly three times the national average, Kerala performs strongly across key development indicators. The Kerala Model, on many parameters, stands comparable to or ahead of several major global economies.

The State has become a focal point for investors, supported by a strong base of skilled labour, robust industrial infrastructure, reliable connectivity, active research and development, attractive incentives, and industry-friendly policies.
The Government of Kerala has taken a proactive approach in introducing reforms to accelerate the State's growth as a leading industrial destination in the country. In the financial year 2022-23, a total of 1,40,106 MSMEs were established, generating 3,00,668 employment opportunities and attracting investments worth Rs. 8,438.95 crore. This growth trajectory continues year after year.

Kerala's cultural heritage is a rich blend of ancient traditions shaped by its geography and history.
